100 Mile Festival of the Arts is a registered Canadian Charity that promotes the education, expression and celebration of the performing arts through voice, piano, instruments, speech arts and creative writing.
To promote the cultivation of music and the performing arts in their various forms as a pleasing and beneficial auxiliary to community life in 100 Mile House and the surrounding areas.
We hold an annual Spring Festival of the Arts, conduct workshops, master classes and recitals throughout the year. We also host an annual Concert of Celebration in the Fall.
Our financial support comes from our Patrons, Award Sponsors, local government, 100 Mile & District Arts Council, festival entry fees and fundraising.
Coached by their teachers and encouraged by their parents and peers, local artists, young and old, perform at our annual Festival of the Arts. Performances are adjudicated in the various genres, including vocal, choral, speech, dramatic arts, piano, instrumental (including violin, flute, guitar), and band. Adjudicator selected participants are recommended to the Annual Provincial Performing Arts Festival.
Our Festival Committee is comprised of volunteers who give of their time and expertise freely without compensation. We are always looking for more members who are interested in supporting the arts in our community. No experience is necessary.
